Dear Campers and Parents,
Welcome to the Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp family — we are excited to have you joining us and can’t wait for summer to arrive! Our entire camp staff is looking forward to helping your child/children grow this summer through our summer camp program.
Our program offers a great number activities for campers ages 6-15 with both day camp and resident/overnight options and an outstanding leadership program for 15-17 year olds. We know you have lots of choices when it comes to summer activities for your kids and we are glad you are looking at our program. I look forward to meeting and working with you this summer to help your child experience the summer of a lifetime.

OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR CAMPER DEVELOPMENT
Our Four Most Important Objectives for Camper Development are:
- POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH.
- Camp staff will encourage each child to have fun and enjoy life by playing outdoors and doing creative activities of their choice.
- Promote camper self-esteem by encouraging campers to express themselves and through tolerance/acceptance of individual difference.
- Camp staff will help campers feel valued by recognizing positive and appropriate behavior.
- Camp staff will provide opportunities for personal goal setting.
- POSTIVE PHYSICAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT.
- Camp staff will help children develop their skills by providing a broad variety of activities that challenge campers to try new thing and work with others. Allowing campers to work on mastery skills in areas of self-identified interest.
- Camp staff will help campers maintain good hygiene and offer times of rest. Camp will provide well balanced meals and healthy choice options.
- APPRECIATION OF NATURE.
- Staff will help children to appreciate nature, learn respect for all living things and understand the importance of protecting our environment.
- POSITIVE SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT.
- Camp is an opportunity for children to experience what it means to participate actively in the camp community, a unique place where people live and work harmoniously together because they care about one another.
- Behaviors that disrupt the building of healthy relationships such as bullying, harassment, gossip and stereotyping will be actively discouraged.
- Teach, reinforce and give opportunities to practice leadership skills.
- Promote G.R.A.C.E (Gratitude, Responsibility, Accountability, Compassion, Encouragement)
- Learn healthy and age-appropriate conflict management skills.
